Beautiful

Our culture and society today has impossible standards for "beauty."
It has been taught as a truth that we must look like an airbrushed,
photo-shopped model, weigh a certain amount,
or dress a certain way to be "beautiful."

But is it true?

No.

No. No. No.
God is a god of beauty, of order, of creativity.
God creates beautiful things. God created you. If there was only one standard of beauty we would all look exactly the same.
    `
Imagine you are walking through a luscious flower garden,
everywhere you look there are vivid splashes of yellow, pale hues of pink,
brilliant reds, blues, purples, oranges, greens. Every color and form imaginable delights your eyes.
You bend to inhale the delicate fragrance of a lilac. Mmmmmm. How beautiful.

But because the lilac is beautiful could never mean that a rose or a sunflower isn't just as lovely.
Each is incredibly gorgeous in it's own very unique way.

As are you.

God loves to be creative. That's why you are a one-of-a-kind insanely beautiful masterpiece.

Beauty is important.
Physical beauty is only one aspect of who you are.

God says that real beauty comes from within.

We've all met that girl with the stunning good looks whose attitude and heart are repelling.
She no longer seems so appealing when you catch a glimpse of what is inside.
"Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight." 1 Peter 3:3-4
Think about that. Let it sit with you.
Outward beauty means nothing if the heart is ugly.
A beautiful heart transfigures the inside as well as the outside.

So how do we attain this inward beauty?

We must go to the source of beauty.
Jesus Christ.
Let us seek Him earnestly.
Let us sit at His feet.

Inhale Jesus.

Read His beautiful love letter to you.
Store up each precious word in your heart.
He will make you beautiful.

"Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting;
but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised."
Proverbs 31:30
